Born from Salone del Mobile.Milano in 1998, SaloneSatellite was the first event to focus on young designers under 35 and is running concurrently with the Salone del Mobile.Milano Moscow since their creation in 2005.

The SaloneSatellite is an unmissable occasion for direct contact with the leading furniture sector companies, and an opportunity for personal growth for its young participants, given the chance of interface with other designers and the critical judgement of experts within the sector.

Russian creatives were also given a space to present their work and ideas. Forty-six emerging designers from Russia and the former Soviet Republics showcased their own projects, with fresh products that combined critical thinking with creativity. These promising designers focused on maintaining Russian traditional aesthetics while striding toward Italian horizons.

The young designers involved are selected from among the top students at the leading design schools in Russia and the post-Soviet countries and showcase a wide variety of projects, ranging from eminently classic design to the latest trends, or referencing their own cultural traditions.

A Jury composed of sectoral professionals awards the three best products and the top three winners are invited to the SaloneSatellite, held under the umbrella of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, in April.
