The 13th edition of I Saloni WorldWide Moscow, last from Oct 11 to 14, 2017, within the Crocus Expo, the most important exhibition center in Russia. The 13th edition of Saloni WorldWide Moscow once again offering the most important event in Russia on furnishings and high-quality complements. The I Saloni WorldWide Moscow 2017 closed on a positive note: trust, service and competition were the key words for the sector professionals and exhibitors on hand for a new wager on the Russian market. The Saloni WorldWide Moscow 2017 closed to great acclaim after squaring up to the Russian market.

The 13th edition of the Saloni WorldWide Moscow at Moscow’s Crocus Expo exhibition centre, proved yet again to be the most important quality furniture and furnishing accessories event on Russian soil. 32,490 attendees, of whom 18,269 trade operators, were recorded over the four-day event.

ICE, the agency for foreign trade and internationalization of Italian businesses, offered hospitality to 120 operators in the sector, selected from 24 regions of the Russian Federation and from Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, taking part in an intense program of B2B meetings.

This was also the 13th edition for SaloneSatellite WorldWide Moscow, involving 37 young Russian designers and others from the former Soviet Republics. The winning talents was invited to the next edition of the SaloneSatellite held during the Salone del Mobile.Milano from 17 to 22 April 2018.

The three Master Classes also attracted crowds, for a moment of reflection and discussion on design themes, in dialogue with leading names of Italian architecture and design – Simone Ciarmoli and Miguel Queda, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Cristina Celestino – as did the Work Talk, a workshop conducted by Diana Balashova, a successful Russian interior designer.

Finally, this was the fourth edition of MADE expo WorldWide, the event on interior architecture, with the participation of outstanding Italian manufacturers of doors and surfaces.

I Saloni WorldWide Moscow showcasing a selection of pieces shown in Milan – from classic to design and luxury pieces. As a very important international exchange opportunity in the industry, a large number of well-known furniture manufacturers in Russia also participated in the exhibition. The fair brought to Crocus Expo-2 home furnishing goods exhibited last April at the Salone del Mobile.Milano, the established showcase for upcoming trends and affirming new talents, while consolidating positions and strategies.

SaloneSatellite Moscow
Born from Salone del Mobile.Milano in 1998, SaloneSatellite was the first event to focus on young designers, instantly becoming the unrivalled place for interface with manufacturers, talent scouts and the most promising young designers, and is again running concurrently with the Saloni WorldWide Moscow since their creation in 2005.

The SaloneSatellite is an unmissable occasion for direct contact with the leading furniture sector companies, and an opportunity for personal growth for its young participants, given the chance of interface with other designers and the critical judgement of experts within the sector.

Russian creatives were also given a space to present their work and ideas. 37 emerging designers from Russia and the former Soviet Republics showcased their own projects, with fresh products that combined critical thinking with creativity. These promising designers focused on maintaining Russian traditional aesthetics while striding toward Italian horizons.

The young designers involved are selected from among the top students at the leading design schools in Russia and the post-Soviet countries and showcase a wide variety of projects, ranging from eminently classic design to the latest trends, or referencing their own cultural traditions.

A Jury composed of sectoral professionals awards the three best products and the top three winners are invited to the SaloneSatellite, held under the umbrella of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, in April.

Events
This year’s Moscow extension again promoted the mission of creative collaboration. Along with commercial activity, emerging creatives had opportunities to learn from the very best Italian architects and designers. The event is regarded as the only platform for good quality furnishing on the Russian market thanks to the huge array of goods, which range from furnishings to upholstered furniture, lighting fixtures, kitchens, office furniture, accessories, bathroom furniture, textiles, furnishing elements and technical furnishing elements for the home /contract.

Also in full synergy, the Master Classes, in collaboration with ICE – Italian Trade Agency, led by three pivotal figures in Italian architecture and design, are unique opportunities for interface, dialogue and reflection on design issues. Alongside the Master Classes, the Work Talk: aimed at Russian professionals, the format was conceived in 2017 to stimulate new ideas and strategies against the country’s actual design and architectural background.

In full synergy with the Moscow event since 2005 is the SaloneSatellite Moscow, which has become a major opportunity for young Russian and former Soviet Republic designers to make contact with the exhibitors, and take advantage of the huge visibility offered by the international press presence.

Each year, the SaloneSatellite Moscow Award is presented for new concepts, original designs and proposals that are the forerunners of the great products of tomorrow. The selection is entrusted to a Jury composed of sectoral professionals.
