Hong Kong Inno Design Tech Expo 2014
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the HKTDC Inno Design Tech Expo (IDT Expo). It features over 400 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, including first time exhibitors from the Czech Republic, Indonesia, Qatar and Serbia.
The IDT Expo comprises the Trade Hall and Inspiration Hall. The Trade Hall includes design, branding strategies and the latest technology such as 3D printing to help SMEs upgrade and transform their operations. IP holders, users and agencies are also catered for in the “IP Trading and R&D” area. For the first time, a “Creative & Tech Start-Ups Zone” is set up to showcase the creativity of young Hong Kong entrepreneurs.
The international focus of the fair is enhanced by the presence of more than 100 new inventions from global inventors aiming to attract interest at the “Global Invention Zone” of the Trade Hall. There is also a Japan Pavilion, led by the Japan Building Materials Association, featuring Japanese interior design (Washitsu). Elsewhere, the Korean Pavilion is showcasing the newest business design solutions and apps strategies.
The expo’s Inspiration Hall is open to the public during fair period. This year, under the theme “Living Design”, Sweden, this year’s Partner Country, is presenting innovative Swedish brands and enterprises, including IKEA, Electrolux, Scania and Volvo. Schindler Group is displaying its award-winning immersive presentation technology, dubbed the “Dome of Future Cities”. The exhibition at the Polish Pavilion “What goes behind… Contemporary Polish ceramic design” presents the achievements of contemporary Polish designers in ceramics.
Global designers, creators and investors also share their insights in over 50 thematic seminars and Inno Talks during the IDT Expo this year.
Hong Kong Inno Design Tech Expo 2013
the 9th Inno Design Tech Expo welcomes Belgium as Partner Country. The Belgian pavilion features product and services excellence under the theme “Belgian Spirit.” Pavilion highlights include “Tales of Heroes,” an exhibition of 45 contemporary and classic Belgian objects.
There’s more global creativity at the Expo’s Inspiration Hall. Under the theme, “Must-have-from-Poland,” the Polish pavilion presents nearly 40 companies offering a smart range of furniture, toys and books, while Hangzhou hosts the first design pavilion from the Chinese mainland, showcasing bamboo offerings in a mix of traditional and contemporary design. Germany is back, this time with industrial design and brand consultancies from the state of Bavaria.
The Hong Kong Creative Force pavilion features more than 90 innovative offerings from Hong Kong designers, including furniture products created from reclaimed bicycle parts.
The expo’s Trade Hall presents design, branding strategies and the latest technology, from mobile apps to 3D printing. The Korea Institute of Design Promotion returns with a range of household products, while the Spanish Inventors Club, with 11 exhibitors, is at the expo for the first time. The Hong Kong Science & Technology Park and the Hong Kong Invention Association, along with exhibitors from the mainland, Canada and Thailand, are also at Trade Hall, as is the IP Trading and R&D zone and its more than 90 exhibitors.

The 8th Inno Design Tech Expo welcomes Denmark. This year’s Partner Country is offering its world-class design and innovation under the theme “Design Society Denmark.”
The Danish pavilion presents 45 companies and their products and solutions in four main areas: urban, home, design and public. A variety of the architectural projects underway to help make Copenhagen, the Danish capital, a greener city, are also being featured, together with such celebrated Danish brands as LEGO, Fritz Hansen, Georg Jensen, Bang & Olufsen and Pandora.
Chinese Taiwan features 10 design and technology companies under a “Fresh Taiwan” theme. The Netherlands is displaying architectural works in its “Dutch Design on the Move” exhibition. Japan presents a selection of its “Good Design Award 2012” winners, while companies from Korea and Germany are offering their latest business solutions in design and technology.
The “Hong Kong Creative Force” Pavilion is spotlighting the work of more than 150 local companies, including more than 50 award-winning projects. As well, a new Hong Kong Upcycling Design Corner offers designer products created from recycled material.

The 7th IDT Expo brings together creative and technology professionals looking to enhance their competitiveness and find business partners for the new opportunities emerging in Asia.
The expo has attracted 400 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, including France, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the mainland, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia and Taiwan.
Some 150 companies from Germany, this year’s Partner Country, are also taking part in the expo.
At the Inspiration Hall, Germany showcase such top brands as Audi, Leica and Grohe, as well as award-winning design and the international travelling exhibition “Design Deutschland 2011,” making its first appearance in Hong Kong.

The 6th IDT Expo welcomes more than 380 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions to the three-day event. The fair’s Trade Hall features six thematic pavilions: Design and Branding, Global Innovation, New Media, Green and Sustainable Development, Innovation and Applied Technology, and Research and Development.
Inspiration Hall, open to trade and the public, showcases outstanding design from Hong Kong, Japan and Germany. For the first time, Germany’s iF award-winning designs are on display.
Nearly 60 companies from Japan, this year’s IDT Expo Partner Country, exhibit at the fair, presenting graphic, interior, product and technology design in four theme areas. Honda, Nikon, Fujitsu and other major Japanese brands feature some of their latest products at the expo.
Hong Kong innovation is also on display at IDT Expo. The Hong Kong Creative Force pavilion shows nearly 50 award-winning offerings from some of Hong Kong’s top advertising, design and architectural professionals. And IDT Expo speakers include Hong Kong image consultant Tina Liu and Prudence Mak, founder and designer of Chocolate Rain.
