The Special Exhibition, ARCO IRIS: The Central America. Pacific Island National Planning Exhibition, Treasure Island of the Pacific. The beautiful culture of Indonesia and the Philippines, located in the Pacific Ocean, the largest sea on the planet, and the pain that the Pacific is experiencing and the ways to solve it are hidden in the Global Village. Let’s start exploring the diverse cultures of the Pacific and exploring the treasures of KOICA’s innovations to sympathize and address the challenges of our global neighbors as global citizens.
The Global Village presents a rainbow-colored journey to Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and El Salvador. Central American countries have similar historical experiences and cultural identities: a mixed culture of native and foreign people living in harmony.
The Exhibition introduce Central America’s unique culture based on indigenous traditions, and its significant mark left on human history.
Moreover, the exhibition will provide a chance to have a look at KOICA’s contribution towards the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)
Global Village Experience Center
Founded in 1991, the Korea International Cooperation Agency has been striving to promote international development cooperation until 2010, when Korea joined the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organization for Economic Development Cooperation (OECD). If we remember that Korea has been able to achieve remarkable economic growth in the past based on the support of many countries around the world, it is time to share our achievements and history with our neighbors around the world.
Opened in 2010, the KOICA Global Village Experience Center delivers news of hope from all corners of the globe and is loved and supported by many people as a place for dialogue and experiences beyond the walls of generations and nationalities.
The exhibitions of the Global Village are composed of development projects in developing countries, educational programs dealing with global issues, cultural experience exhibitions that bring the lives and cultures of the world to life, and food culture experience programs that convey the emotions of the world inhabited by food.

Exhibition Experience Center
Opened in 2010,you can meet KOICA’s development partner countries located around the world. In addition to introducing KOICA projects in partner countries,visitors can also experience cultural experience exhibitions and food culture experience programs that bring the lives and cultures of the world to life.
Global Citizens Hall
The importance of global citizenship is being emphasized for the happiness of the global village. The Global Citizens Hall examines the global reality together and introduces the promises and ways we can all live together for a more beautiful global village.
Culture Exhibition Hall
Respecting their culture and customs for deeper friendships with their global neighbors can also be a global citizen. The Cultural Exhibition Center introduces the history and culture of the countries with which KOICA is present.

Introducing Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), which is working to help our neighbors around the world on behalf of Korea, and introduces innovative examples of KOICA projects utilizing creative ideas and science and technology innovation.
Mission and Vision
Korea, which was one of the world’s poorest countries half a century ago, has been a regular member of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), an advanced club of developed countries. The case of Korea, which has succeeded as a recipient country in the receiving country, is also good news for the developing world.
We must celebrate the tremendous success achieved through the help of the international community and our efforts, and at the same time feel heavy responsibility. It is time for the developed countries to be informed of the reality and difficulties of developing countries, and to develop countries as mature world nations to pass on the know-how of development. If we are not born again as global citizens, the ‘world country’ Korea will be a long talk.
KOICA Global Village Experience Center intends to open the door to global citizenship. Our experience center will give you the opportunity to see the reality of developing countries and experience their culture and feel that our neighbors are closer to us than you think, even if you don’t visit all over the world.
Above all, the Global Village Experience Center is a space for students who will lead Korea in the 21st century. Based on the economic development achieved by our parents’ generation, our children now have to make Korea as a leading country for international development and a truly developed country. The Global Village Experience Center provides opportunities for children to grow up to learn about their role as global citizens.
Korea International Cooperation Agency
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was established in 1991 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea as a governmental organization for Official Development Assistance (ODA) to enhance the effectiveness of South Korea’s grant aid programs for developing countries by implementing the government’s grant aid and technical cooperation programs. It is led by three-year-term president of the board who is appointed by the President upon the recommendation of Foreign Minister.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency was founded as a government agency on April 1, 1991, to maximize the effectiveness of South Korea’s grant aid programs for developing countries by implementing the government’s grant aid and technical cooperation programs. In the past, development cooperation efforts were focused mainly on meeting the basic human needs (BHNs) of developing countries and on fostering their Human Resource Development(HRD). However, the focus has now broadened to promoting sustainable development, strengthening partnerships with developing partners, and enhancing the local ownership of beneficiaries. Additionally, global concerns such as the environment, poverty reduction, and gender mainstreaming, have gained significant importance in the international community.
Due to the continuously changing trends in development assistance efforts and practices, KOICA is striving to adapt to these changes by using its limited financial resources effectively in areas where Korea has a comparative advantage. In particular, Korea has the unique experience of developing from one of the poorest countries in the world to one of the most economically advanced, as recently demonstrated by South Korea’s entry into the OECD DAC (Development Assistance Committee) on November 25, 2009. The know-how and experience Korea gained from this transition are invaluable assets that allow KOICA to efficiently support the sustainable socio-economic development of its partner countries and to offer them hope for a better world.
