The KUJU Smart Home System and Devices developed by Tronico Technology Company Limited is fully DIY and offers new smart home experiences including real-time home surveillance, app-controlled lighting control and power monitoring.

AVC Technology (International) Ltd. showcases its Lümen Sphere, which is capable of displaying 16 million colours. It is also waterproof and buoyant, making it suitable for creating a dream-like scene in outdoor areas such as swimming pools. Fushun Optoelectronics Technology Co, Ltd. is presenting the FUSHUN LED Street Light Solution. Equipped with GPRS and Zigbee wireless communication technology, the product is able to control an area of street lights through computer or mobile devices, providing a more convenient smart solution for street light control.

As consumers become more environmentally conscious, the market demand for green lighting products has increased. LED products continue to be popular, with a growing number of new and interesting designs that are practical, decorative and commercially viable. I2M Co., Ltd. from Korea is displaying its Nanum D’light kinetic lighting. It is an LED table lamp with movable lamp shades that can be transformed into shapes such as a heart or skirt. Another eye-catching exhibit is Siansy Technology Limited’s LED writing board, with high brightness LED chips that enhance the visual impact.

Winning designs from the Hong Kong Lighting Design Competition be displayed at the concourse lobby area in Hall 1C, where international buyers be able to witness the creativity of local design talents. Another highlight of the Fair is the Asian Lighting Forum. Industry experts and professional associations analyse key topics such as global market trends in LED lighting products and future applications for smart lighting.

Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2016 Autumn Edition
The 18th HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), a leading event of the Asian lighting industry. The fair attracts over 2600 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions this year. New exhibitors from Canada, Hungary, Ukraine, and the UAE are participating for the first time. Among the many innovative and creative products at the fair are the world’s first spiral shaped filament LED light bulb SIMBULB (Booth: 1D-D36), which won the Good Design Award 2015 and Red Dot Award 2016; the smart Aroma Diffuser Lamp (Booth: 1B-E37) that serves as a diffuser, humidifier, Bluetooth music player and lamp; 180°motion activated LED Security Light (Booth: 3C-D18) equipped with a WiFi-enabled camera, built-in microphone and speaker, and a Floating Bulb that uses magnetic floating and wireless induction technologies.

Energy-saving solutions have been one of the world’s key concerns towards environment conservation, and the demand for energy-efficient lighting products is rising. Many lighting manufacturers develop their products with innovative ideas to cope with this green concept and good taste.

Goodwell International (Hong Kong) Company Limited (Booth No. 3B-D35) produces a new, novel product, Floating Bulb. It uses the magnetic floating and wireless induction technologies which make the bulb levitate and rotate 360° at the same time. It completely embodies the concept of environmental protection by using oak base and LED in the bulb. There is a touch switch on the oak base; just by touching the base, the bulb can be turned on.

Home Resource Industrial Co., Ltd. (Booth No. 1B-A42) presents the LED Grow Light for Plant. It is a new design and patented LED plant grow lights which can both enhance the growth speed of plants and decorate your living space, making our homes greener and sweeter.

Apart from energy saving solutions, the development of smart lighting technology is also increasingly mature. Highstar (HK) Industrial Co Ltd (Booth No. 1D-B25) presents HSD9016A, which is a Smart Eye protection LED Table Lamp with clock. Its smart sensors can correct users’ sitting posture, preventing nearsightedness and slouching. The value-added functions include a sensor touch for on and off, three modes of lights (natural light, yellow light, white light), an LCD that displays time, temperature, week, year and alarm clock, also a memo board with backlight.

Market trends
In regard of the product trend, the lighting DIY market is booming than ever, particularly in North America and Western Europe. Decorative items are no longer limited to Christmas lighting but a variety of domestic lighting products, such as track lights, linear lights, spotlights of novelty designs are included.

The Outdoor & Tech Light Expo boasts a wide range of lighting equipment dedicated to commercial/industrial use, providing an efficient one-stop sourcing platform for buyers. In parallel with the smart home lighting trend, the demand for smart public lighting systems is also on the rise.

Another trend for the industry is highly linked with environmental concerns. Lighting products of higher energy efficiency and longer lifetime are preferable. On one hand, many countries, including Australia, the EU, the US, and the Chinese mainland have already phased out imports and sale of most incandescent light bulbs.
