The twin jewellery shows, Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, both organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Together with Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show forms world’s largest jewellery marketplace, the show presents a diverse array of finished jewellery, from the rarest and most luxurious to the exclusive collections of internationally renowned brands, as well as works from emerging designers, amber jewellery and wedding jewellery, and continue to form the world’s largest jewellery marketplace.

The HKTDC continues to adopt a “Two Shows, Two Venues” arrangement, to showcase various types of jewellery raw materials including loose diamonds, precious stones, semi-precious stones and pearls. The twin-show format provides exhibitors and buyers with a highly effective platform to connect with potential business partners.

By bringing together exhibitors from all corners of the world and showcasing the finest jewellery and jewellery raw materials, the two HKTDC shows serve not only as a one-stop promotion and sourcing platform for the industry, but also make Hong Kong a top jewellery trading and sourcing hub for buyers globally.

Every year the Jewellery Show features a broad range of activities and events aimed at providing more information to industry players at the same time as offering an opportunity for participants to network and exchange ideas. The shows deliver an all-rounded programme of jewellery, seminars, buyer forums and networking events that bring trending market intelligence to industry players.

To promote local craftsmanship and creativity, the HKTDC joins hands with Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and Diamond Federation of Hong Kong to organise the Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition.

The sixth HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show (26 February to 2 March) and the 36th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show (28 February to 4 March). The two shows featured a total of more than 4,600 exhibitors and welcomed a record number of over 90,000 buyers from 141 countries and regions, up 4% over the previous year. More than 35,000 buyers attended the Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, while about 55,000 visited the Jewellery Show.

Facing an uncertain global economy, jewellers have been actively enhancing their design and R&D capabilities in recent years. The growing diversity of designs and materials was demonstrated in the exhibits at this year’s shows, which successfully attracted the attention of global buyers.

The buyer attendance at the two shows reached a record high, with a satisfactory growth in attendance from emerging markets such as Mainland China, India and ASEAN countries such as the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

A number of new themed zones have been added to the Jewellery Show this year, including the Avenue of Jewellery Creators set up by the Asia Pacific Creator Association to introduce jewellery designers from Hong Kong and Mainland China, with a particular focus on presenting culture, art and creativity from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Pavilions from emerging markets such as Mexico and Indonesia are making their debut appearance to feature jewellery with a distinctive local flavour.

The Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show at AsiaWorld-Expo specialises in jewellery raw materials including loose diamonds, precious stones, semi-precious stones and pearls. Three special zones include the “Hall of Fine Diamonds”, which will gather the world’s top diamond suppliers; the “Treasures of Nature”, a zone that is dedicated to finest coloured gems; and the “Treasures of Ocean”, which will display quality pearls.

Among the new exhibitor groups in 2019 are Donghai, a county in Jiangsu province in the mainland famous for its crystal products, and Dongguan, a Guangdong city known for its fine silver jewellery. And the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association and Italian Exhibition Group SpA are collaborating to present the “T-GOLD+METS” Pavilion, featuring professional jewellery and watchmaking machinery along with jewellery-making equipment, technology and supplies from international exhibitors. Other group pavilions are from France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Peru, Portugal, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and more.

This year, with support from the Japan External Trade Organisation and the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, the HKTDC has collaborated with the Japan Pearl Exporters’ Association and the Japan Pearl Promotion Society to invite Japan as the shows’ partner country for the first time, highlighting the country’s top-quality jewellery.

The Japan Pearl Exporters’ Association and the Japan Pearl Promotion Society have set up a Japan Pearl Jewellery Pavilion and Japan Pearl Pavilion at the Jewellery Show and Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, respectively. About 130 exhibitors in the two pavilions are promoting Japan’s cultured pearls and pearl jewellery to buyers from around the world. Other than regular fine pearl jewellery, exhibitors also present the rare Tsushima Blue and Tsushima Green pearls, bringing new business opportunities to the trade.

Continuing its rich tradition of fostering creativity in the local jewellery industry, the HKTDC has once again joined hands with four local jewellery industry associations to organise the 20th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition. Under the theme “Be Connected, Be United”, the competition called for entrants to demonstrate the idea of being connected and being united in their jewellery designs.

The fifth Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show (27 February-3 March) and the 35th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show (1-5 March), held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show featured premium jewellery from around the world, providing an important sales and promotion platform for Hong Kong’s jewellery sector to develop overseas markets.

Featuring more than 4,550 exhibitors, concluded with participation from about 87,000 buyers from 145 countries. This shows that Hong Kong is an important sourcing platform for the global jewellery industry. In terms of attendance, buyers from Japan, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Iran and Turkey recorded significant growth, reflecting the market potential of these countries.

The twin jewellery exhibtion showcasing finished fine jewellery such as top-tier jewellery pieces, internationally celebrated brands, new designer collections, antique jewellery and bridal jewellery. Catering to buyers’ various sourcing needs, the Jewellery Show is organised into various thematic zones to showcase products in different categories. Apart from the new IT Solutions for Jewellery zone, the Hall of Fame returns this year featuring the collections of nearly 40 style-leading jewellery brands.

The Designer Galleria will feature jewellery pieces from 58 local and overseas designers, including Sarah Zhuang, who has recently won the Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition Open Group Best of Show Award with her East-meets-West diamond collection that captures Hong Kong’s distinctive vibrancy.

This year’s Jewellery Show will feature an all-new IT Solutions for Jewellery zone. The zone will showcase the latest technology and solutions for inventory management, design, production and e-commerce advancement, including an array of IoT devices for the jewellery industry.

In the seminar on jewellery technology to examine such themes as cloud technology and big data applications. A Hong Kong Science Park company, Master Dynamic, will be present to share its latest innovation, the world’s smallest diamond marking technology.

The 34th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show opened today and runs through 6 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The show features about 2,580 exhibitors from 39 countries and regions. They are showcasing a wide range of finished fine jewellery, including top-tier jewellery pieces, famous brands, new designer collections, as well as collectable jewellery art pieces and antique jewellery. The concurrent Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, currently underway at the AsiaWorld-Expo, features various raw jewellery materials. The two shows feature a total of about 4,480 exhibitors, forming the world’s largest marketplace for the jewellery industry.

This year’s International Jewellery Show, held under the theme “Tribute to Movie Queens”, features displays re-creating several classic movie scenes, enhancing the glamour of the exquisite jewellery on display. Dedicated zones have been set up according to buyers’ sourcing requirements. Visitors looking for the most prestigious jewellery collections can visit the Hall of Extraordinary, featuring more than 100 exhibitors showcasing top-tier jewellery collections.

The Jewellery Show hosts elegant exhibits in nine themed zones. The Hall of Fame comes to the spotlight with 40 prestigious jewellery brands. The Hall of Extraordinary gathers fine jewellery collections. The World of Glamour showcases the craftsmanship of Hong Kong jewellers. The Antique and Vintage Jewellery Galleria houses classic charms to connoisseurs’ taste. The Designer Galleria is home to radiant designs in vogue. There are also the Hall of Jade Jewellery for Asian jadeite, Treasures of Craftsmanship for decorative items, the Hall of Time for luxury timepieces, as well as Wedding Bijoux for mementos of love.

Twenty group pavilions have also been set up, including the Chinese mainland, France, Germany, Italy, Israel and Peru, as well as new pavilions from Portugal and the Philippines. The T-GOLD+METS pavilion displays top-of-the-line professional jewellery and watchmaking machinery, equipment, technology and supplies, while the TRENDVISION Jewellery + Forecasting pavilion provides information about the latest product trends.

At the Hall of Fame, buyers can find renowned jewellers from around the world. Elsewhere, Wedding Bijoux focuses on bridal jewellery and wedding rings; Treasures of Craftsmanship features pieces that blend jewellery with art while Antique & Vintage Jewellery Galleria highlights the charm of classic jewellery.

The third Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the 33rd Hong Kong International Jewellery Show have concluded successfully. The two concurrent fairs featured more than 4,380 exhibitors from 54 countries and regions, and attracted over 80,000 buyers from 147 countries and regions. Among overseas buyers, attendance from the Chinese mainland, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, the UK and Malaysia recorded significant growth.

Despite global economic challenges, the two shows continued to attract local and overseas buyers, demonstrates the international significance of the two shows, which form the world’s largest jewellery marketplace, reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a proven global sourcing hub for the industry. The survey showed that the majority of buyers have a positive impression of Hong Kong’s position as a jewellery marketplace and a high regard for Hong Kong suppliers.

The Jewellery Show features eight themed zones for key market segments to meet buyers’ needs and targets. Hall of Fame brings together top-tier international brand names in a prestigious and elegant setting. Hall of Extraordinary is an elite section exclusively for high-end fine jewellery pieces. World of Glamour highlights the expertise in jewellery manufacturing of Hong Kong-based exhibitors. Antique & Vintage Jewellery Galleria showcases the glamour of classic jewellery from bygone times. Treasures of Craftsmanship features carvings from precious/semi-precious stones, gold or silver decorative items, precious ornaments and jewelled accessories. Other special themed zones are Designer Galleria, Hall of Jade Jewellery, and Hall of Time.

Wedding Bijoux and T-GOLD+ METS pavilion are making their debut this year. The former is specially designed for a stunning range of bridal jewellery. Co-organised by HKTDC, HKJJA and Fiera di Vicenza, T-GOLD + METS pavilion will feature international professional jewellery and watch making machinery, equipment, technology and supplies.

In Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, Hall of Fine Diamonds shows carat-size loose diamonds to best advantage as well as provides a discreet trading ambience. Treasures of Nature features a rich source of precious stones in many different cuts. Treasures of Ocean features a wide variety of quality pearls. Making its first presence this year, Rough Stones & Minerals will showcase unpolished and uncut precious stones and gems.
