Kalakriti Archives – Prshant Lahoti Collection has been instituted to acquire, preserve and interpret heritage of world civilisations spreading over cultures and continents.
The collection consists a collection of vintage maps of India and vintage photographs of India.
A civilisation is a heritage of beliefs, customs, and knowledge slowly accumulated in the course of centuries, elements difficult at times to justify by logic, but justifying themselves as paths when they lead somewhere, since they open up for man his inner distance.
Human civilisation has been attempting to understand the cosmos, the planet and the life through various activities over the millenia leaving behind a rich legacy of ideas imprinted in wide range objects and spaces. Kalakriti Archives – Prshant Lahoti Collection has been instituted to acquire, preserve and interpret such heritage of world civilisations spreading over cultures and continents. On one hand, the Collection documents rare collectibles bearing fine features of human quest, on the other hand it brings forth such collection for public viewing and establishing new meanings by the contemporaries.
The founder of this collection, Prshant Lahoti instituted a number of endeavors to capture the human creative enterprise ranging from old folk paintings to classical paintings to maps to modern and contemporary art, which are part of the Kalakriti Archives.
In addition to making these rare collections accessible to wider public, the Archive plans to offer professional guidance and documentation expertise to similar collections belonging to private and public foundations, and family offices in order to join the dotted lines of fragmented history of human journey. As a part of sharing the heritage of our past Kalakriti Archives – Prshant Lahoti Collection carefully chooses events and spaces of international standard to showcase the part of his collection to the contemporary generation to open up the spiritual and intellectual inner distance of the self.
