The 20th Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer was held from July 8-11, at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The fair brings together exhibitors from all over the world to showcase the latest brand designs and international fashion.

Some 1,268 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions are on hand for the 20th HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer. Include first-time exhibitors from Canada, Poland and Russia. Chinese mainland, Macau, Chinese Taiwan, India, Indonesia and Japan, was presented group pavilions.

Nearly 90 buying missions from 45 countries and regions are in Hong Kong for the show. They include nearly 5,000 buyers from 3,376 companies, among them: Australia’s House of Quirky, Brazil’s Cavalera, the Chinese mainland’s VANCL, Japan’s AEON, Poland’s Top Secret, Russia’s Ledi Sharm and South Africa’s Truworths Ltd.

Fair highlights include three new product zones: Men in Style, Packaging and Design and the Small-Order Zone, which features about 150 garment racks and showcases offering buyers products in small quantities.

Returning product zones include Brand Name Gallery, Bridal & Evening Wear, Denim Arcade, Fashion Gallery, Garment Mart, Infant & Children’s Wear, International Fashion Designers’ Showcase, Salon of Scarves & Shawls and World of Fashion Accessories.

Highlight events
During the four-day fair, 13 fashion parades present new clothing and accessories. Among them, the Federation of Hong Kong Footwear is displaying the designs of its Shoe Fountain project, which paired 11 local designers with footwear manufacturers to produce original creations.

Special events include Fashionally Collection #2 on the first day, which showcases the collections of 14 past winners and finalists of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers Contest. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University today is staging an MA Graduation Show spotlighting the collections of student designers.

The Designers’ Collection Show on the second day, present designer collections from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines and Singapore, while the Chinese University fashion show showcase the creations of students in its Higher Diploma Programme in Fashion Design and Product Development.

The Brand Collection Show on 10 July, feature Indonesia’s Gregorius Vici and Angela Chung.

Cosmetic brand M.A.C Senior Artist Ryuko Lau and hairstylist Marco Chan will demonstrate the latest make-up and hairstyling trends on 10 July.

Seminars
Ten seminars and buyer forums was took place over the first three days of the fair. On the first day, United States trend forecaster Fashion Snoops presents its 2014 spring/summer women’s fashion trends, along with key directions for fall/winter 2014/15 and much else, while United Kingdom trend forecaster WGSN spotlights its 2014/15 fall/winter trends and design directions.

On the second day, Stylesight LIVE Global Tour in Hong Kong and, on 10 July, Peclers Paris’ 2014/15 fall/winter trends covering ready-to-wear, knitwear and fashion accessories for men and women.

Hong Kong in Fashion
The LUV HK Fashion promotion, last from July 8-21, presents fashion shows, make-up and hairstyling demonstrations, shopping discounts and offers and other activities in cooperation with local fashion retailers and industry professionals. The event includes a Hong Kong fashion map displaying information on select fashion stores offering local design in the city. During the LUV HK Fashion promotion, shoppers can enjoy discounts at the featured shops.

HKTDC
